This week, we meet John Bean! A talented, happy and hard-working guy! John was interviewed by Caitlin Koval, who we met last week.
How long have you been working at GROW-HUB? Since October 2018 (Edit! John was around looooong before Grow Hub, when Greg Amspoker was the manager many years ago, sometime in the late 80’s/early 90’s)
How many hours do you work at GROW-HUB? Up to 20 hours a week
What made you interested in working here? Enjoying the fresh air.
What are your responsibilities? Standing trees, watering plants & mowing the lawn. (Edit! John does a lot more! He fixes broken tools and machinery, organizes our stuff, plants seeds and seedlings, waters plants….You get the idea. He’s a jack of all trades!)
What is your favorite thing about working with the organization? Being outside in the community enjoying fresh air.
What are the skills that you have learned at GROW-HUB? Learned to stand trees, plant seeds & operate a riding lawn mower.
How can you use the skills that you have learned from GROW-HUB and transfer them into the community? Help friends & family plant gardens. Mow the lawns of those who aren’t able to.
What are some of your favorite hobbies to do outside of work? Bowl, listen to music, & watch sport events.
How do you think that the company could improve? The company could grow new/different plants.
What are your favorite plants? Pansy Plants
What is the easiest plant for you to grow? Succulents
What is the hardest thing for you to grow? Gourds
