My name is Chip Koval. I am a member of the Board of Directors of GROW HUB. I am also the father of Caitlin, a 26 years old and has cerebral palsy. She worked tremendously hard to get a regular high school diploma. She graduated with honors and went on to get an Associates of Arts degree in Family and Community Sciences from Santa Fe College.
Despite her hard work and determination, Caitlin has not been able to find a job in over a year of searching. Like many other people with developmental disabilities, she has a tremendous amount of skill but has not found an employer willing to help her apply it. She understands the realities of her limitations, but she wants and needs a way to participate in and contribute to her community. GROW HUB provides that opportunity.
The possibility of Caitlin having gainful employment in a setting in which she is accepted and encouraged to apply herself is more than simply welcomed, it’s almost unbelievable. Caitlin, her mom, and I realize that like any other opportunity or possibility, there may not be something that works out for her with GROW HUB. We still are very excited about the potential opportunities it presents to Caitlin and her peers.
